People Want a Person: My First Cannabis Education Pop-Up at Ritual Dispensary

On October 10, 2026, I did the thing I had spent two and a half years building toward.

My first dispensary pop-up at Ritual Dispensary in Glen Burnie, Maryland, is officially in the books. My heart is full, and one thing feels clearer than ever: people want someone knowledgeable to talk to about the medicine they are purchasing.

That is why I built Mandi Cruz Media. And that is why this day meant so much.

Two and a half years of work, finally across the table

There is something powerful about seeing the work you have poured yourself into become a place where people can stop, ask questions, and feel heard.

At Ritual, that place was my table. The Mandi Cruz Media banner, educational displays, journal, and framed degree brought the brand into the room. But the conversations gave the day its meaning.

I got to look people in the eye and help them understand their medicine. That is the work I feel made for.

The conversation that stayed with me

One conversation is still on my mind. A patient who was new to the medical program described cannabis experiences that brought up intense emotions and racing thoughts.

We talked about looking more closely at the product: its cannabinoid content, CBD, and terpene profile, including linalool. The conversation was an opportunity to think beyond a product name and ask more informed questions about what was in the flower.

He left with my consultation card and a new way to think about his product. I am keeping his personal details private here, because the point is what that exchange showed me: there is a need for someone who can listen and make the science understandable.

This is why I do this.

People want a person

A dispensary visit can put a lot of information in front of you at once. Product names. Percentages. Cannabinoids. Terpenes. Labels. For someone trying to understand their own experience, knowing where to begin matters.

That is where cannabis education has a place. A conversation creates room to slow down, connect the information to the person's questions, and identify what they want to learn next.

My takeaway from this first pop-up was simple: people want a person. Someone knowledgeable who will take their questions seriously.

The need is real. And I am standing in it.

Science Meets Stardust, in person

Mandi Cruz Media brings together cannabis science, approachable education, and wearable knowledge. This pop-up was a chance to put those pieces in front of people and start a conversation.

The framed degree on my table represents my Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Seeing it beside the resources I have created felt like a reminder of the work that brought me here.

The purpose of that work is to make the information useful to the person asking the question.

Thank you, Ritual and BMORE 420

Thank you to the team at Ritual Dispensary for welcoming me and trusting me with your patients. Thank you to BMORE 420 for believing in me and opening this door.

Every hard season led here. I am grateful for this beginning, and I am just getting started.

Keep the conversation going

My next stop is Ryvanta on Thursday, October 15, 2026, as announced in my pop-up recap. Come talk to me about your medicine and the questions you have been carrying.

If you cannot make it to a pop-up, you can still connect with me and explore the education here:
